US President Donald Trump has rejected an Iranian proposal that aimed to reopen the strategically important Strait of Hormuz and help end the ongoing fighting in the Middle East, according to Reuters. 

Iran had proposed a seven-day roadmap that would involve steps toward ending hostilities and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The proposal was communicated to Washington through mediators, including Qatar, during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
